The pride was unmistakable yesterday as hundreds of wellwishers lined the streets of Glasgow to welcome home troops from the Royal Highland Fusiliers.
About 300 Fusiliers from the battalion marched through the heart of the city to mark their return last month from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Onlookers applauded as the procession, led by the pipes and drums, arrived at George Square where they saluted the city’s Lord Provost, Bob Winter.
Among the crowd was Rose Gentle, whose son Gordon was killed while serving with the Fusiliers in Iraq four years ago. An inquest found that had the vehicle in which Fusilier Gentle was travelling been fitted with bomb-detecting equipment – which instead was lying in a storeroom – he may have lived. Although Mrs Gentle, 44, from Glasgow, has become a leading critic of the Iraq war, yesterday she carried a banner bearing the words “Welcome Home”.
“This is their day today,” she said. “It’s important that they know people are supporting them.”

The latest recruit to the Scottish Office is Mark Sneddon who will be taking on the role of organiser for the Central region as soon as his paperwork is processed, at 21 years old Mark will be our youngest organiser and I am sure will be one of the most active.
Earlier this week Mark told the Scottish Secretary, “I am desperate to do some proper work for the BNP, I’ve been inactive for months. I don’t think I’ve been active now for about a year at least, and it’s killing me. It’s not enough to quietly support the BNP or send the odd donation every now and again, I have to be involved directly”.

At last we have someone to get to grips with the Central region and look forward to hearing about Marks successes at Decembers Scottish Office regional meeting.

Activities are taking place in Elgin, Aberdeen, Dundee, Lockerbie and Glasgow this coming month spreading the BNP message across scotland, if you would like to become involved in the BNP in your region please visit the contacts page and get in touch with your local organiser.

Good news this week and of specific interest to all members in the Dundee area is that a local contact has been established and a paper sale (the first for a long time I know) has been arranged for the 29th of November aimed at a specific target area within Dundee.
This will be a great opportunity to re-establish a BNP presence in Dundee and I would like to think that all our members and supporters alike will earmark this day to come along, give a hand on the stall, do some localised leafleting and meet everybody later for a get together. This is a long overdue event and we have already received great interest in it, so please do come along and lend a hand.
With a foreseen general election looming we will also be looking for a candidate to stand in the next general election, as well as local council candidates, in the Dundee area, something that will be discussed with all local members.
Myself along with Elise, the Scottish Treasurer, will be on hand during the day as we are embarking on a whole weekend of BNP activity in the region and helping out in Glasgow the following day.

The Scottish office was recently asked by a member of the public if we could look into a situation in Cardonald Glasgow regarding a toddlers nursery run by Glasgow council, a mother took her 2 year old to enrol but was told by staff they could not enrol the child as the council had instructed them to keep a number of places open for asylum seekers. As John Hood said “this council is beyond the pale”.

For Glasgow City Council to reject a child applying to join a nursery simply because the child is white is quite normal here I think. If you have a look around some of the primary schools in Glasgow, as I did recently, you would be shocked to find that not only have the discredited teaching methods of the 1960s been perpetuated but that they have been complemented by vast amounts of political indoctrination which is displayed on the walls of the classrooms and corridors. Racial engineering/propaganda is deemed to be of far greater importance than the 3 Rs it would appear, and especially in predominantly white schools. They must be mentally conditioned for a large injection of ethnic diversity in the near future.

Frankly, the child who was rejected on racial grounds had a lucky escape. The parent would be better to keep her child away from school/nursery in Glasgow. These institutions are nothing more than Communist brainwashing facilities run at the taxpayers expense and staffed by half-educated mediocrities that pass as “teachers”. The ignorance of these people can be astonishing. Many of them would say “I seen, I done” and “yooz”. Recently, a friend who was a deputy head teacher stated that she would retain some 10% of her teachers if given the choice. The EIS would not agree!

I have been alerted to the claims of Aberdeen UKIP that they are growing in Scotland, I don’t know what they base this nonsense on but I feel it worthwhile reminding them that in the 2007 elections in every contest the BNP easily beat UKIP.
While the BNP vote rose in every region (a 26% increase overall in Scotland), UKIP lost votes in every region to record a fall of 22%. In four regions they could not even muster 1,000 votes or get over 0.3% of the vote. In Glasgow -the biggest region – they could only garner 405 votes.

The writing has been on the wall for sometime for UKIP in Scotland. The BNP increased our vote despite a media blackout and two days of full and half page Unison smears in national, regional and local papers. We over took political parties given daily media exposure on account of them having had MSPs. Compared to the BNP, the treatment received by UKIP was favourable indeed and yet they fell backward while we advanced our position. In fact, the only party to record a bigger increase in their vote since 2003 than the BNP was the SNP.

After the elections BNP Scotland offered an open invitation to all UKIP members to join us and help us continue our upward motion with a view to getting a Euro realist MEP elected in Scotland in 2009. It was obvious from the vote that only the BNP could move forward to challenge for that goal.

UKIP candidates and officials in Scotland would be warmly welcomed in the BNP where their skills, experience and energy would be better employed in a party that is moving forward rather than backward.

BNP Scotland already has a battle plan for the General Election and the Euro Election too. Now is the time for the patriots and Euro realists in UKIP to come across to the BNP and show the old bulldog spirit that saw our forefathers defeat the menace of Nazism and the Kaiser before that to keep our country free. A paper sale and leafleting is planned for Huntly, one of our target wards, which will cover the half of the town still left to receive literature.
Roy has also confirmed that members will be going to Glasgow to help out with planned activities in the city.

Northeast member John Shackleton has been put forward for activist of the year, John who is in his seventies has taken part in activities across the region over the last three years, hardly missing any, putting many of our younger members to shame!

A report from our Fife correspondent

On Sunday 19th October local members gathered for our regional meeting.
The Regional Organiser, John McGuire, gave an update on the regions progress as well as how we want to develop the group. The importance of activism was stressed and how vital it was to bring our message to the public. Members were also informed that a major Scottish meeting would be held in March and to do their best to attend this.

An update on the Baillieston campaign was also given and it was stressed that no activity would take place in our region whilst Glasgow was campaigning for the council by-election. Instead the members were invited to travel to Baillieston to assist the Glasgow team with their ongoing campaign.

Alastair Harper gave an informative talk on the banking crisis and the state of the British economy. The disgraceful decision by the First Minister to turn St Andrews day into a celebration of Islamic culture, and the hundreds of thousands of pounds of tax payers money the Scottish government has given away to make this happen was also highlighted to our members.

The meeting then moved into an open forum with various discussions taking place on a wide range of political topics before drawing to a conclusion.

We urge all members in the area to attend these meetings. They are open meetings and you are welcome to bring interested non members along. Only by working together can we progress our cause and help to change the political status quo.

Due to the unfortunate death of a respected Labour councillor, another council election campaign is now underway in Baillieston.
Again Charlie Baillie is standing for the British National Party.
This campaign got underway in earnest on Saturday 18th of October with door to door canvassing, in the ward and will continue right up until the election on November 6th.
As well as members of Glasgow BNP, Charlie was joined by the Mid Scotland & Fife Regional Organiser, travelling over to Baillieston for the day to help out and to gain some valuable knowledge on organising election campaigns.
The day was a great success with the election team covering a lot of ground and distributing hundreds of papers and leaflets.
In fact before the end of the day the team had run out of their supply of ‘Voice of Freedom’ newspapers.
This was an especially pleasing aspect of the day as none of the papers were posted through letterboxes of householders not at home. Each and every one of the papers were given to people expressing an interest in voting for the British National Party or were an undecided voter who wanted to learn more about the party.
The day was rounded off with a small social occasion when the team enjoyed a meal and a chat before going home to put their feet up for a well earned rest before doing it all again tomorrow!
The good reception our election team received from the people of Baillieston proved how important it is to engage in campaigns like this and to get out there and promote our party. It is efforts like this that allows people to see the real British National Party and to be able to challenge the false image our enemies and a bias media try to portray. And through the hard work of our party activists our message is getting through, the British National Party is progressing and will continue to do so.

Anyone still in doubt that our country is under going cultural change must have had their eyes opened by the news that a Muslim festival paid for by the Scottish executive will be held on St Andrews day in Hamden park.

While Alex Salmond takes every opportunity to cause a rift with Westminster with his anti British rhetoric he is only too keen to sidle up with Muslims in an attempt to secure their vote in any future independence referendum. His silence during the recent banking disaster is telling, even Salmond cannot deny that Scotland could not of bailed out the banks on its own.

The majority of Scots do not want independence nor do they want to be ruled by Brussels and now after making the break with voting Labour or Conservative and becoming disillusioned with the false nationalism of the SNP are ready for the BNP message of hope for the future.

I am contacted daily by people wanting information about the party as well as regular enquiries from head office, members report an increase in the number of people in their regions becoming interested in what we have to say. The recent report in the Edinburgh Evening News is also an example of the establishment’s acknowledgement of the party in Scotland.

Our vote has increased at every election and is sure to do so again in the 2009 EU election, but to capitalize on this growth we need members to ’step up to the mark’ by becoming officials in the Scottish Office or contacts in their hometowns.

Many members have taken this step over the last year, which has enabled us to restructure the party in Scotland, we are at the moment fighting our second local election in Glasgow and have finalized our EU candidates list for next year. Members have attended the RWB family festival and will be representing Scotland at the conference in Blackpool next month.
We have held three regional meetings for all officials with a forth planned for December this year and have our EU campaign launch booked for early 2009 with guest speaker Nick Griffin, the ‘truth truck’ will tour Scotland at the same time.

We are now in the process of setting up a new office to house our printing presses etc to enable us to print our own local patriot leaflets and plan coming campaigns.

So as you can see the party in Scotland is in good shape and ready to move forward, but to do so we need your help, the time for sitting on the fence is over, you cannot afford to leave it up to others, we are here to support, guide and assist you in any way we can, it is time to make a stand and join the Scottish Office in its fight for our country.

Near hysteria from the mainstream parties was expressed in the Edinburgh Evening News yesterday which trotted out the usual quotes from out of touch politicians and anti-British union officials concerning the BNP contesting the Forth By election.
The quote attributed to the Scottish Secretary Gary Raikes that was reported as “said today” was in fact taken from an email sent to the papers reporter a week ago, if this journalist had bothered to contact us before going to press he would of found that we are not standing in Forth. At the time the email was sent we were indeed going through a selection process to find a candidate but it was decided to concentrate our efforts on the Baillieston election in Glasgow.
However the publicity has led to numerous enquires to the Scottish Office and STV asking for an interview, the words home and goal come to mind!

 With all the talk about nationalising banks in the face of the coming economic disaster many of the Tartan Army will be turning over in their minds the old arguments about nationalising, in the fullest sense of the word, the Scotland Football Team.
Whilst many will ascribe to the hand of Fate the error which misguided the foot of Iwelumo, many more will be unable to prevent their minds from regretting the fact that our team against Norway on Saturday was not fully and truly national. Iwelumo is not a Scot.
The “Game”, in the season, is played throughout Europe by teams which are now polyracial and are money-making gladiatorial contests. Fair enough; football is one of the new opiums of the people. The speed and dexterity which foreign and exotic imports into our football teams have certainly brought may add to the thrills of the contests, but they are not brought about by ourselves, and the heart-swelling pride of race and nation is diminished by so much when a Glasgow Rangers or a Manchester goal is scored by someone from Nigeria or Turkey.
The world becomes smaller by the day; racial differences are being dissolved and some even regard as the greatest good the prospect of a world citizenry with one language, one culture and a monochrome skin. To most of us this is the Death-Wish.

Our North east correspondent reported today that onlookers at the Thainstone auction mart near Aberdeen were stunned this week when at least six horse drawn carriages bearing the city’s coat of arms came up for auction at a Shetland pony sale.

It has emerged that the carriages and other related equipment were sold for less than £7000 in total.

Just how desperate for funds are the council that they have resulted in flogging off part of our heritage for such a paltry sum. Did they take advice on the value of these items because if not it is the Aberdeen public who has been shortchanged, one onlooker at the mart said they looked “at least pre-1850″.

A council spokeswoman said that “most” of the carriages were in a poor condition after at least eight years in storage but did not reveal the history of the carriages.

When the council is making £50 million in cut backs do they think that selling off historic items for such a low price is going to make any difference, can we look forward to statues and other museum artifacts appearing in future sales?

How many of their ethnic minority pet projects have they cut we wonder, no prizes for guessing the answer to that!

I am a profound admirer of the critic Quentin Letts whose article in the Mail recently should be everyone’s recommended read.

His perceptive eye sees into the ugliness, dishonesty and cruelty of our society.

His review of the revolting exhibition of Chinese exhibits in the new gallery of the ”art” dealer Charles Saatchi is in itself a profound insight into the psychopathology that has stricken the mentality of 21st c.” Broken Britain”.

Let us not be deceived into thinking that there is some hidden, wondrous aesthetic in the grotesque parade of decadence in the Saatchi Gallery. The liberal/leftie cultural snobs who revel in this filth look askance at those of us who do not see the inner beauty in a dog poo.

This exhibition has one virtue. It reveals to those of us who have some element of clear-eyed, traditional vision that we are looking at an exhibition of art in crisis and art bespeaks the soul of a nation and its people.

There can be no doubt that many people realise that our age is sick. They realise that we are encountering phenomena in the field of art that have no parallel in the history of man.

These are so eloquent of the disturbance in the world of the spirit and in everyday life that when the crisis that we are living through breaks, as it may well do very soon, we will marvel at our own failure to learn the full truth from what art has made so plain.

With interest I read your letter to the ‘Mail’.   The  Saatchi Show is indeed revolting and  a symbol, as you imply, of a sick social order.

Art in our society has become so perverted that not only bad art has come to be considered good, but even the very perception of what art really is has been lost.  The capacity of a work of art to evoke an aesthetic experience is not of positive value unless the experience itself has value. 

What I ‘m trying to say is that the aesthetic experience should refine perception and discrimination, if we can be made more sensitive by it then it would have a wide bearing upon all other aspects of our lives.  If on the other hand we are brutalised by it then it is no more relevant than waking up with a hangover, i.e. the after effects are negative.

The only theory of art that I can think this show fits into is George Dickie’s Institutional Theory simply because it is in a gallery and endorsed by a so called ‘Art World’.

This months Glasgow and West BNP meeting saw an increase in attendance with some old faces making a welcomed return, a sure sign that last Decembers troubles are well behind us.

Organiser Charlie Baillie informed the crowd that the BNP would be contesting two local elections in November one in Glasgow the other in Edinburgh and called on members to “fulfil their duty to our cause” and help out canvassing.

Charlie went on to explain how our main efforts will be directed to the Euro elections starting with a big meeting where Nick Griffin will be speaking this will co-inside with a tour by the ‘truth truck’.

After a break an open discussion was held which included the following issues;

A guest expressed disgust at money being thrown at young thugs and wasted, instead of being increased to handicapped and special needs children whom are innocent souls that would never cause harm!

A further case was highlighted where a disabled man was deprived of benefit halved from £400 to £200 per month due to the forcing of persons off disability benefits and “back to work”.

Citizens advice bureau’s are now overwhelmed by appeals to reverse these unjust decisions to re-instate cash.

Meanwhile, benefits are being instantly cut depriving those whom have for 30yrs worked and paid full taxes and through no fault of their own now find themselves having to live on Disability Allowance. 

It was resolved that BNP Election Candidates will take up as “shadow councillors ” any fit cause and assist in resolving patriots grievances brought to their attention.
