Final round up

Another first for the British National Party in Scotland, Sunday 31st May 2009 saw the Truth Truck on the streets of Glasgow.
From 10am to 6pm activists were cruising the busy and bustling streets of downtown Glasgow, the council estates of Drumchapel and Springburn, and the leafy suburbs of Bearsden and Milngavie, with Nick Griffin blasting out the pure truth over the speaker system!
This great day started at 10am and by lunchtime, the city was really starting to hot-up – loads of people and gorgeous boiling sunshine was bringing everyone out onto the streets. One of our Glasgow activists said, “We were all over! We were in George Square where we delivered leaflets while the Truth Truck circled the Square several times, then we parked just off Buchanan Street in the pedestrianised area of Gordon Street, and again leafleted around the Truck. We drove throughout the Merchant City, the iconic Sauchiehall Street and round Argyll Street, where the people love us!
Then we spent a lot of time in the Drumchapel ward, where our candidate John Robertson is standing at the local by-election, also on June 4th. We parked in the busiest areas and leafleted around the Truck. We got a lot of good responses here, and we really made our presence known”.
Glasgow and West organiser Charlie Baillie told news team, “Just like in Clydebank last week, we even ran out of leaflets again! This necessitated a slight diversion with the Truck in order to restock! However, the good thing about the Truth Truck is that no journey is wasted because wherever it goes it represents a “Leaflet on Wheels” – “a Mobile Leaflet” – all on its own”
The last word goes to fund holder Max Dunbar! “Literally, tens of thousands of people saw us today! They will all be talking about it. In fact, you could see it on the faces of some of the people as we passed them, they just couldn’t believe it was the BNP! We really made an impact wherever we went! Not all of them will vote for us, but one thing is for sure – they are all going to be talking about us”!
Finally, at 6pm, after 8 solid hours of publicity, our brilliant team of activists finally called it a very successful day!
But this report doesn’t end yet! Here’s a run-down of everything else we’ve been doing this week in Scotland!
Saturday 30th: Seven Scottish activists went down to help out in Carlisle in Nick Griffin’s target constituency of “North West” England. We all went down on the train and helped the activists distribute hundreds of Voice of Freedom’s on the streets. We were really well received and we want to thank the Carlisle activists for their comradeship, friendship and help.
Meanwhile in Cowdenbeath, Mid-Scotland and Fife activists leafleted face-to-face in the centre of the town and put out hundreds of leaflets in just under 2 hours. “We got several positive comments and this bodes well for us”, reported one of our activists.
Friday 29th was meant to be some kind of “anti-BNP day” organised by the anti-democratic Left-Fascists. If so, then it was a total flop for them. While they were complaining about having to face the democratic process, several BNP activists distributed 1,200 leaflets throughout Glasgow!
As one of our activists stated, “Naturally, the efforts of this intolerant and anti-democratic mob was largely ignored by the Glasgow public and to the extent that people paid them any attention, it just meant more publicity for us! We did notice some of the anti-democratic mob trying to pester passers-by to ’sign’ something, goodness knows what they were going to do with the signatures, but they were having a very difficult job getting any! Passers-by, however, were snapping up our leaflets as if they were going out of fashion, or should that be, ‘now coming into fashion!’”
On Thursday 28th, activists spent 3 hours outside a large shopping centre in Glasgow and distributed over 1,000 leaflets.
On Wednesday 27th, we were back in Clydebank, as well as Glasgow city centre, and 4 activists put out around 1,200 leaflets face-to-face and hand-to-hand in the space of 3 hours. We were there last Saturday and today, 8 days later, we were really pleased to see that a “commentator” in the Sunday Herald has picked up on our activity in Clydebank, and she almost pulls out what’s left of her remaining stubby hair (which she must have been abusing since at least the early 1960s) lamenting about how everyone was so enthusiastic and that we received no opposition! It just shows how out-of-touch such journalists are with real people in the real world! Get a life Muriel! And while you’re at it, try to get a proper job! But thanks for the publicity anyway.
Tuesday 26th, Highland activists were out in Oban, Highlands and Islands organiser Peter Meyer reported, “We had a good response from people, especially some of the shop owners who we enjoyed a good discussion with, all agreed with our policies once they were explained and they got past the pre-conceived notions built up by the politicians and biased media”.
Meanwhile a steady stream of leaflets, vote BNP posters and information packs are going out daily from the Scottish office to addresses all over Scotland!
More activism: We’re happy to report that a supporter, who is not even a member, responded to our request to help us put material through letterboxes. He distributed 350 Voice of Freedoms through the letter boxes in the tower blocks in his area! Thanks for that, mate! We need many more people like you! In fact, we’re looking for more people like you all over Scotland in the coming 12 months.
If you can do this kind of very helpful and useful activism, then please contact us at Scotland@bnp.org.uk
This European Election Campaign has demonstrated that we are the only Party that dares to go onto the streets and meet the people. The only other “activists” on the streets are occasionally the anti-democratic Left-Fascists who are only there because we are there! So they really just give us publicity anyway. Very few people fall for their absurd hyperbole.
Remember, everyone in Scotland has the opportunity to Vote BNP on Thursday 4th June. Polls open from 7am-10pm. You have one vote. Put your cross next to “British National Party “
