The final day, the final push!
The final days campaigning was carried out in bright sunshine in Glasgow city centre and Drumchaple during Wednesday 3rd June.

The team reported that they were quite unprepared for the reception they received from the people of Drunchaple who treated them as conquering heroes!

Our candidate John Robertson said, “the people here are so disgusted with the labour party and so delighted to see that we are standing in this local election so they have in their words ‘a party worth voting for’!”
Meanwhile in the city centre leafleting and talking with the public carried on throughout the hot afternoon and apart from the usual suspects who are now tearing their hair out with our obvious success people were happy to take a leaflet or stop to ask questions about the party.

In the evening Glasgow and West BNP held a get together with a buffet to mark the end of this campaign.

Scottish leader Gary Raikes told members that up to 50,000 leaflets had gone out across Scotland, membership was up 30-40 % on last year and enquiries had now past the 1000 mark.
He thanked Charlie baillie and his team for all their hard work and presented a bottle of whisky to Charlie to enjoy at his leisure, then went on to inform the room of all the work that has been done across Scotland and highlighted the amount carried out by Roy Jones and his wife Elise in the Northeast as well as giving an insight into his dealings with the press and their reluctance to give the BNP the right to reply.
The feeling in the room was one of coming success that we will see a huge increase in votes and hopefully save our deposit and set us up for future elections.

This campaign has now put BNP Scotland firmly on the political map and we all look forward to the results of our efforts on Sunday.
