BNP Scotland continues to campaign like never before!

October 29, 2009

Charlie Baillie - Springburn medical centreThe British National Party would turn back “asylum seekers” trying to enter this country if they have passed other safe countries on their way here.

This was said by BNP candidate in the Glasgow north east by-election, Charlie Baillie, in response to a question from a journalist while campaigning in the constituency.

Mr Baillie told the journalist that he would be campaigning on an anti-immigration platform, focusing on the arrival of asylum seekers.

Asked whether he would turn away a “torture victim from Zimbabwe,” Mr Baillie said “Yes. They have neighbouring countries they can go to.”

Meanwhile, BNP Scotland continues to campaign like never before in the seat. So far, some 25,000 leaflets and 4,000 Voice of Freedom newspapers have been delivered in the north east of Glasgow.

The party’s Truth Truck is also being deployed in the campaign. Its first appearance was last Friday when it was out for a 16 hour stint. The drivers report that they were greeted with cheers everywhere they went.

The Truth Truck was also out campaigning over the weekend, despite awful weather.

Official campaign launch

October 29, 2009

Glasgow Meeting 27Oct09The British National Party will support the right of Scotland to have a referendum on independence, even though the party is opposed to independence per se, said Nick Griffin MEP.

Speaking after a packed out meeting to officially launch the BNP’s by-election campaign in Glasgow, Mr Griffin said that he supported the call for an independence referendum.

“We will oppose (independence) because we think overall it will be bad for Scotland and the United Kingdom. But if the Scots choose it then they are entitled to have it,” Mr Griffin said.

It was standing room only at a packed meeting for the official launch of the Glasgow by-election campaign at a plush hotel in Glasgow City centre on Tuesday night, reports our Scottish correspondent.

More than 80 members and supporters filled the room with members of the press in attendance to hear Mr Griffin, BNP Scottish leader Gary Raikes and candidate Charles Baillie speak.

Mr Raikes talked about election strategy in Scotland and of how important it was for supporters to take an active part in the campaign.

Mr Baillie provided a round-up of the campaign’s progress. Mr Griffin then spoke and a collection afterwards raised £890 for the campaign.

Mr Griffin then went live on a local radio station for nearly two hours the next morning, and conducted numerous media interviews.

Mr Griffin told the radio show that the BNP hoped to gain ground in Scotland and the main aim of contesting the Glasgow North East by-election was to build on the party’s profile before the next Holyrood elections in 2011.

“We were 4.4 percent in Glasgow North East in the European elections,” Mr Griffin said. “We are going to be running a better campaign and there is a lot of public interest and sympathy for us so I think it is realistic.

“In Glasgow there is a [Holyrood] seat to be taken with probably about 6.5 percent of the vote and we believe that is a do-able thing.”

The next stop on his tour was to visit the FEBA centre for ex-veterans. Some BNP members been involved with helping that organisation and Mr Griffin was able to speak to a number of veterans. He later described their accounts as “harrowing.”

Mr Griffin also spent some time with FEBA founder Mr Tommy Moffat. Many ideas for helping FEBA further were discussed which will likely come to fruition within the next few months.

Mr Griffin said he planned to continue supporting veterans. “If the generals want to be involved in politics for the British Isles, then all they have to do is come out openly and say that how the Government treats our ex-servicemen is a disgrace,” he said.

He also pledged to set up a support network for FEBA if it did not find the £100,000-a-year funding it needed over the next five years. “They are doing wonderful, important work here and they need recognition from the Scottish government,” he said.

Mr Moffat stressed that he was not a BNP member and said that FEBA was a non-political organisation.

Reply to Sunday Mail slur

The Sunday Mail editorial , 25 October 2009, tries to smear the BNP by attempting to associate us with something called the “Scottish Defence League”.

The BNP in Scotland has made our position on this group very clear in the statement which was issued by BNP Scottish leader Gary Raikes, in our Scottish newsletter, The Bugle, sent to every member in Scotland on the 9th October.

The statement is worth repeating once again:

ADVISORY regarding “SDL” March

Finally, it has been brought to my attention in a report in The Sunday Post (20 Sept) that something called “the Scottish Defence League” is wanting to hold an anti-Islam rally in the centre of Glasgow on 14 November.

This group has absolutely nothing to do with the BNP. While we would not expect any of our members to be anywhere near this march, it must nevertheless be made clear to every member of the BNP in Scotland, via the pages of this newsletter, that any member of the BNP seen at this march, or anywhere near this march on that day, will be subject immediately to disciplinary proceedings.

Here comes the bribe

October 24, 2009

bridesIt has been reported to our news team that women living in Glasgow are being offered cash by criminals trying to arrange bogus marriages.

One Glasgow MP says he is aware of several cases where young Polish women have been approached and offered cash to marry men from countries outside the EU.

Polish citizens can live and work in the UK since the country joined the EU in 2004, and many Poles have moved to Glasgow.
The criminals are said to be demanding up to £10,000 to set up the weddings, which allow non-EU nationals to remain in the UK. The sham weddings are a quick and easy way for the criminals involved to raise a huge sum of money.

Dozens of young Polish women have come forward and reported being approached by the criminals.

Once asylum seekers have been set up with a woman, the couples then go abroad to get married, away from the scrutiny of the British authorities.

The ‘husbands’ can then legally stay and work in the Britain.

Ian Davidson MP, who represents the Glasgow South West constituency, said: “I’ve been contacted by a number of Polish girls who live locally and say that they’re being offered up to £3000 to marry asylum seekers.

“The men, from Algeria, Afghanistan, Turkey and Pakistan, hope that by arranging a bogus marriage they will be able to claim the right to stay in the UK.”

He added: “This is a subject that has been concerning me for some time now and one which I fully intend to give increased attention to over the coming weeks and months.”

Which sounds rather like ” I wont be doing anything about it” to us!

The only party that would do something about it is the British National Party and on November 12th the good people of Glasgow North East will have the chance to put their cross next to our candidates name on the ballot sheet. VOTE BNP ON NOVEMBER 12TH.

Growing support after QT

BNP flag Milton 11Oct 09

What a day, my phone has been ringing all day with people wanting to get information, join or wanting help. Here are a few of the emails recieved.

dear sir/madam,
i m not a member but i do think some of your policies are a good idea- i just wanted to let you know i feel that nick griffin didn’t get a chance at all to give his views-it was a farce- and he was just set up completely, could you let him know that many people do support him and his party but a lot of people are scared to admit it in case they are accused of racism etc.

I have been reading the BBC comments page regarding Question Time last night and felt that I just had to send something directly to you at the BNP. I should mention that I have made a comment on the BBC website too!

I was appalled at the way Nick Griffin was treated. I have never been so outraged at a programme being so one sided. It was as if the audience had been hand picked and the panel were allowed to say what they liked without any intervention by David Dimbelby.

I noted with interest that when a gentleman stood up to ask why we are still allowing immigration when there is so much unemployment in this country , the microphone and camera were swiftly moved away to a lady member to the audience who wanted to have another “pop” at Nick Griffin.

Other panel members were allowed to get away with avoiding a particular question being asked, but Nick Griffin answered the question and was still set upon by the “mob”.

He was asked over and over again what he meant by indigenous! P L E A S E ! One member of the panel had us going back as far as the ice age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have voted labour in my earlier years and then lib dem for the rest. However I did vote BNP in the last election and will continue to do so. People are so afraid to mention that they vote for BNP because words like Nazi and Fascist get thrown around. Yes maybe Hitler went about his “cause” all the wrong way and NO I don’t condone wiping out races , cultures or religions, but he did say he wanted Germany for the German people. Well , like you, I want Britain for the British people. I am sick and tired of being told that certain things in British society “offend” certain people. Well as the Australian Prime Minister said “you don’t have to live here”.

If you want to live here you live with us , like us , and as we do. We should look after our “own” before we start looking after “anyone else’s”

I wish you the best of luck for the future and can assure you of my continued support.

Just a note to say, well done Mr Griffin, I thought Question Time was very unfair on you, which shows how scared the other parties are of your continuing success.
You can count on my vote at the next election.

One thing that the British love more than anything is the underdog. We howled for justice against King Charles the First but cried the moment his head rolled off the block.
Last night we witnessed the pillory of Nick Griffin. He was placed in front of a hostile audience by people who should have known better.
Outside the studios, people who were high on the catharsis of protest; latching on to something to be angry about, be it nuclear submarines, animal rights or the rights of a woman to scare school children by dressing like Darth Vader as a sign of her religious sincerity.
Nobody came away from Question Time with honour all that happened was that thousands of British people saw Nick Griffin as the underdog and warmed to him because his treatment was unfair and undemocratic.
People haven’t just voted for the BNP out of cruelty and hate, they have voted because no-one else is listening to them. No-one listens to the parents of the ten last remaining white children in a Rochdale School. No-one listens to the Parents in Acton whose children sit twiddling their thumbs while Moslem Children go to pray. No-one listens to the people of Warwick who have watched as a gigantic mosque, against which they have had no say, grows up to dominate their City.
It is not racist to say that the growth of a Political Religion in Britain that has no regard to the laws or the customs of Britain is wrong.
It is not racist to say that wherever Islam holds sway no other religion is allowed to survive.
But somewhere, somehow, someone has labelled these views as racist.
Ignore the Sikhs who have come to Britain to escape Islamic aggression. Ignore the Hindus and the Buddhists who have done the same. Ignore the fact that Bangladesh, a state 50/50 Islamic and other religions at the time of Partition is now 98% Moslem and kick the hell out of a misguided, inarticulate, unfortunate person who has spent his life following the wrong path.
Like it or not, the bedrock of Britain is Christianity. Out Politicians have ignored that fact, allowed other religions to usurp that fact and Nick Griffin is the product.

I was shocked at the tactics the Question Time team used to set up Nick Griffin, it shows the levels that our so called national broadcasting corporation will stoop to. It seems to me that being caucasian and proud to be British is a crime and not fashionable, so they try, unsuccessfully, to make Mr Griffin out to be nothing but a racist. Well their plan is backfiring as myself and others I have spoken to who have never voted for the BNP intend to at local and national level. I find the way the recent cash/expenses scandal was brushed under the carpet a disgrace to every British citizen who voted for these bloated overpaid excuses for politicians. Additionally selling the UK out to Europe, and letting unskilled immigrants who sneak across our borders stay, with full benefits, legal aid, and housing priority over British citizens an absolute disgrace. I am so disheartened with the UK, I feel like a second class citizen in the country that I love. We are allowing the minority retain the power of the majority, change our laws and milk the system, so dont loose heart and fight the good fight, you are waking a sleeping giant and people all over our great nation feel the same…..

Dear All
As a 40 something couple we have no interest or leaning towards any political party and indeed neither have bothered to vote for years.
However having seen Nick Griffin on Question Time we are disgusted in the way he was treated by the audience and other guests. We feel
little was mentioned about BNP policies with the emphasis on portraying him as a rac
ist.

This has prompted us to look at BNP website to see what the policies are and to be honest we have found a party whose policies we can identify with
We are drumming up support with our family and friends urging them to check out your policies.
Rest assured if a BNP candidate stands in Peebles/Scottish Borders we will vote BNP.

One thing can you please emphasise more on the wider range of policies to the general public to show its not all about race.

Wishing BNP and Nick EVERYsuccess

Glasgow By-election news

October 19, 2009

IMG_1816Glasgow BNP took to the streets of Springburn on Saturday with an impressive 14 activists taking part. A number of these people had never been on the street before and it is to the credit of Charlie Baillie, our energetic and dynamic organiser and candidate, that these volunteers were encouraged to take part in what may prove to be an historic campaign; certainly one that will prove to be the highlight of the year in Scotland.

A stall was set up complete with BNP flag in the heart of Milton which is a large council ward within the constituency. Three teams were organised to leaflet houses in the area and one team remained to man the stall. The exceptional good weather was a godsend and morale amongst the activists was very high. This meant that the area was covered quickly and after some two hours we moved to Saracen Street in the Possil Park area. The stall was set up at a busy junction and while a number of activists remained at the stall another group went walkabout distributing leaflets and the VoF to members of the public. Charlie Baillie addressed the passers-by with the megaphone and this drew a great deal of attention to us.

Sunday was a busy day for the team as well. A number of activists leafleted in the constituency on a door to door basis. Hard graft but worth the effort.

The Journal, just who are the fascists?

October 17, 2009

images66Labour: “BNP members should not be allowed to teach in Scotland”

From ‘The Journal’ newspaper.

BNP claim it is a breach of their human rights to withhold employment based on political beliefs

The General Teaching Council’s (GTC) code of conduct is strong enough to prevent BNP members from becoming teachers in Scotland, according to Scottish Labour.

The comments come following a speech by schools secretary Ed Balls to the Labour conference in Brighton last week, in which he ordered a review in England and Wales to “keep racism and BNP activity out of all our schools”.

Rhona Brankin, Scottish Labour’s education spokesperson, said: “We all condemn the idea of having racists teaching in our classrooms. No one would want their children educated by a neo-Nazi. Here, the General Teaching Council for Scotland has much stronger powers to ensure that anyone in the classroom is a fit and proper person to be a teacher.”

A Scottish Labour spokesperson added: “The BNP are not a normal political party. They are a violent bunch of fascists who stand against everything the vast majority of Scots hold dear.”

The review ordered by Mr Balls will consider whether or not to ban BNP members from becoming teachers in England and Wales, but will not effect the Scottish education system as it falls under the jurisdiction of the Scottish Parliament.

Regarding a similar review in Scotland, a Scottish government spokesman said: “Teachers must adhere to the General Teaching Council for Scotland’s Code of Professionalism and Conduct, which states that teachers must not be prejudiced by views about a pupil’s lifestyle, culture, disability, beliefs, colour, gender, language, sexuality or age. Membership of a specific political party in itself is not a breach of the Code.”

Speaking to The Journal, Gary Raikes, leader of the Scottish BNP, defended his party, saying that it is wrong to deny a teacher the right to employment based on political beliefs:

“The BNP are not neo-Nazis or violent fascists. Those that level these insults at us do so due to their ignorance. I would suggest that by trying to deny teachers employment because of their political beliefs is in itself a fascist act and a breach of our members’ human rights.”

GTC Scotland would not comment specifically on the situation, highlighting instead the stability of the system and the strict measures in place.

GTC Scotland Chief Executive Anthony Finn said: “We are content that our Code of Professionalism and Conduct offers a robust and fair measure by which to ensure that teachers registered in Scotland are fit to teach in our Schools.”

First meeting for Aberdeen City

October 16, 2009

bnp 003
Last night saw the first Aberdeen City meeting since new Organiser Barry Scott had taken on the role. .

“As this was my first meeting I was naturally apprehensive about meeting members for the first time “, said Barry, “but after the introductions were over, we all simply got down to business discussing Branch Strategy”.

It was agreed that our efforts would be concentrated on contesting Aberdeen South, currently held by Anne Begg of Labour. Members proposed a leafleting campaign in the days following Nick Griffin’s Question Time appearance on the 22nd of November, in the hope of benefiting from the good publicity this should bring.

The highlight of the evening was the very generous offer from one of our members, of payment in full, for the deposit for our candidate in Aberdeen South, who is to be announced in the next upcoming meetings.

A collection was held at the end of the meeting of which Fifty Three pounds was raised. This will be put to good use as payment for a Wreath to commemorate Remembrance Sunday at BNP Scotlands service on the 8th November.

Mr Scott finished his report by saying, “The over whelming support for the British National Party in Aberdeen really is an ‘un-tapped resource’ and I believe as a group we have a very exciting future ahead of us”.

Asian youths target special needs school.

October 14, 2009

stone
Today Wednesday 14th saw a sickening episode outside a Whitburn special needs school. Asian youths (who should have been in school themselves) were playing ethnic songs on a boom box at high volume outside the local school, including the Dirty Kuffar rap song. A visitor to the school challenged the youths which resulted in a projectile thrown, narrowly missing his head. The youths continued to climb on the school fence and hit the building with objects before being chased off by a member of the public.

West Lothian organiser Mike Coyle visited the site shortly after it being brought to his attention. The school declined to comment however local residents confirmed this vile act.

“I could hear loud music playing, so loud it woke my baby! Outside the school I could see Asian youngsters with a stereo dancing around shouting at people passing by” reported one resident who went on to say “I watched as they threw an object at a man who was asking them to move on, I heard the words we have a f**** right to be here being shouted, the youths started hitting the school before another man chased them away”.

Another resident also reported on “Offensive racist songs being played at loud volume, which included lines like Kill the Whites, amongst other filth”.

Yet another threatened to call the police and was subjected to a volley of racial profanities.

Mr. Coyle speaking to news team said, “This came as a shock to me, we have a very small Asian community here who are a part of the wider community. For these youths to target a special needs school is just sickening. We have never seen anything like this here before and I hope it will be a one off, to be publicly proud of your religion is one thing but this behavior has done nobody proud”.

Reaching the public

October 12, 2009

IMG_1799
Activists canvassed in Saracen Street which is a busy shopping area in a part of the Glasgow North East constituency which has not, hitherto, been visited by the BNP.
This area includes Possilpark which has a reputation for being one of the tougher parts of Glasgow. Our team spent some time here and discovered that the residents were very friendly and forthcoming. The issues here are similar to those in other areas of the constituency; namely a feeling of detachment from their rulers in government which manifests itself in neglect and even disdain. Virtually nothing is done here by the politicians and if any action is taken then it is usually too little too late. The bare minimum seems to be the rule. Needless to say this has a depressing effect on the people and leads to apathy and a sense of hopelessness which translates into a low turnout at elections. We hope that we breathed some optimism and fresh air here and that the people feel that they are no longer taken for granted.

Meanwhile, other activists were busy at Springburn Shopping Centre and although they encountered some opposition from the socialists this was half-hearted and ineffective. To prove the point we set up a stall and six of us continued for another 2 hours. In the meantime, Charlie Baillie received a text from a 25 year old woman we had canvassed an hour before in Saracen Street saying that she would vote for him. A wonderful morale booster to finish the day on.

West Lothian activity report

October 10, 2009

BNPSCOTWLG
Saturday saw a day of action in West Lothian, local organiser Mike Coyle reports.

Activists started their day in Bathgate town centre where hundreds of leaflets and magazines were handed out in less than an hour. The team spent a great deal of time talking to many supporters even having a cup of tea bought for them!
Mike told the news team, “This was the first time the new group took to the streets in West Lothian and the support was overwhelming. Many people not only took our leaflets but stopped to talk and express their views and gratitude to seeing us. The only bother we had was one untidy Marxist student who thought it was ok to roar the usual profanities in front of young children. It was actually a member of public that sent him swiftly on his way”.

Following the success in Bathgate the activists moved to Livingston to leaflet outside the shopping centre where more leaflets were handed out before Mikes hunger got the better of him. After a brief fast food stop the teamcalled it a day. Mike finished by saying, “I was taken aback by the support shown and the success of our first day leafleting and that was just a small team. As the group grows I firmly believe the party could establish itself in West Lothian. One chap that came out with me even took a bundle of leaflets away with him to hand out round his home town….and he is not even a member…..yet!”

West Lothian is going from strength to strength with their next open meeting set for 22nd October. For details contact Mike 07815597675 or coyle409@btinternet.com.

Liars and fools…

October 8, 2009

An African woman who lived in Glasgow while seeking refugee status has been jailed for 18 months after admitting lying about her background.
Fatou Gaye, 38, and her son Arouna, four, were removed from their home in Sighthill during a dawn raid in May.
Only after her deportation to Ivory Coast did she admit that she actually came from Senegal.
Luton Crown Court was told she had duped sympathetic politicians and cost the taxpayer more than £100,000.

The removal of Gaye and her son gained widespread publicity. Their case was raised by Glasgow SNP MP John Mason in the House of Commons and by MSP Christina McKelvie who wrote to the Home Secretary. Both believed she came from Ivory Coast.
Prosecutor Claudette Elliott said Gaye was given cash, food tokens and accommodation and had cost taxpayers more than £100,000 by taking out legally-aided cases in an attempt to stay.
Mrs Elliott said: “The defendant embarked on a web of deceit which involved members of parliament, which went on for some years – from February 2005 to July 2009.
“The crown say she took advantage of benefits by seeking refugee status. She made numerous applications, based on deceit.”
Unknown to the authorities dealing with her case, Gaye arrived in the UK on 27 August 2004 on a visitor’s visa from Senegal.
On 1 February 2005 she went to the UK Border Agency offices in Croydon and asked to remain as a refugee saying she was from the Ivory Coast.

Language difficulty

After that she maintained she was from Ivory Coast and had two judicial reviews and five appeals of her case in an attempt to prevent her and her son being deported.
It was only as they were being flown to the Ivory Coast on 28 May that Gaye revealed she did not come from there.
On her arrival, with a UK border official, she could not understand the local language. Staff there said her name indicated she came from Senegal.
Mrs Elliot told the court that Gaye did not know the Independence Day in Ivory Coast and did not know the geography of the country. Gaye was returned to the UK and taken to the Yarlswood Detention Centre near Bedford. On Wednesday she pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining leave to stay in the country by deception.
Nigel Leskink, defending, said Gaye was uneducated and had initially lied about her nationality having been given advice that she was more likely to be allowed to stay if she said she was from the Ivory Coast. He said the Home Office did not make checks with the Ivory Coast before deporting her there.
Judge Richard Foster, who also recommended her for deportation, said: “This country is rightly proud of its immigration and asylum seeking system. It is well known for its generosity to asylum seekers and refugees. “You have dishonestly and cynically abused the system and brought it into disrepute.
“You told lies to remain here by saying you were from the Ivory Coast. For over four years you pursued that lie and used every possible means to lengthen your stay.”

Organisers meeting report

October 8, 2009

meeting 022The British National Party in Scotland continues to expand and has appointed yet another new organiser and deputy leader, Scottish leader Gary Raikes has announced. “I am pleased to announce that Joe Finnie will be the new organiser for Renfrewshire and Walter Hamilton will take up the role of Scottish deputy leader,” Mr Raikes told a regional meeting of BNP Scotland over the weekend.
“The meeting opened with encouraging reports from Local Authority organisers on the activities which have already taken place in preparation for elections,” Mr Raikes told BNP News. “I told the meeting about the BNP’s ethos of authority and responsibility and why we have to adhere to a disciplined structure if we are to gain success,” he said. “The BNP Scotland is currently at an all-time record with the highest number of active members ever and we are building on our growing vote tallies.”
The meeting was given a roundup of articles from the Scottish press which had featured the BNP. These included many front page items which proved how newsworthy the party had become in Scotland. “Even though they were written with a negative slant, they were on average favourable to our cause,” Mr Raikes said.
Also on the agenda was the upcoming Glasgow by-election which provoked much lively discussion. Invaluable advice was provided by England’s North West regional organiser Clive Jefferson. “We all know Mr Jefferson ran the successful campaign which led to the BNP victory in his region in the European elections and we’re grateful for Mr Jefferson’s help,” Mr Raikes said. Also attending the meeting was BNP deputy leader Simon Darby who fielded a number of questions concerning the proposed changes to the BNP constitution and the importance of the coming appearance of the Chairman on Question Time.
“All organisers were given info packs and copies of Voice of Freedom to take away to help in promoting the party in their regions,” Mr Raikes continued. “In addition, BNP Scotland’s 23 seat electoral strategy was presented by one of our think tank members. This let everyone know the goal towards which we are working in the elections.”
“It was a pleasure to meet up with all our newly appointed local authority area organisers and to hear how keen they all are to get things moving in their regions,” Mr Raikes said. “All agreed this meeting was one of the best attended, most productive, and professionally run we have had so far. Thanks go to secretary Ian Wilson for preparing all relevant paperwork and meetings chairman Robert Bonnar for keeping proceedings running smoothly.”

Getting our message out

October 2, 2009

Results from the Glasgow campaign have started to come through in the form of the number of leaflets being returned to the Scottish office asking for info packs and in some cases asking for help with local issues.
Almost every one shows great concern with law and order, or in fact the lack of law and order!
Is it any wonder when we have here in Scotland murderers sentenced to just six years in prison and released after serving three?
In January 2008 this was the sentence handed out to a thug who kicked and battered a nineteen year old youth to death then dumped his body outside his parents house in a wheelbarrow.
The youth’s mother said “Perpetrators are treated with kid gloves while victims and their families are given no consideration, how can it be justice that killing my son will cost no more than four years, and possibly just three?”
“I would never have supported the death penalty before but I would be first to sign up for it now.”
A sentiment we are finding is being expressed on the streets. There is a very real feeling that the justice system is failing in its duty which after all is to punish criminals and protect the innocent not the other way round!
