British National Party Scotland

FEBA-Gary-RaikesThe British National Party in Scotland has stepped up to help FEBA, an independently established organisation which helps ex-military personnel adapt to civilian life, Gary Raikes, leader of the party in Scotland has announced.

“BNP Scotland met with the chairman of FEBA in the Glasgow based charity’s drop in the city’s centre last weekend,” Mr Raikes told BNP News.

“FEBA is the only organisation of its kind in Scotland and helps people to make the transition from life in the armed forces to civilian life. It is the brainchild of ex-soldier Tommy Moffat, a former Queen’s Own Highlander with fifteen years’ service in Northern Ireland and the Falkland Islands,” Mr Raikes said. FEBA receives no government funding and relies solely on the donations that are made to the charity.

“Although various promises have been made by political parties to support the charity, none have delivered, except the BNP, Mr Raikes continued.

“Walter Hamilton, our new Lanarkshire and former Glasgow organiser, met Mr Moffat over a year ago and thought his idea for veterans and anyone else seeking help was a very worthwhile venture. He told Mr Moffat that if there was anything we could ever do to help, all he had to do was phone.”

The total lack of support from local authorities — who appear to have millions to throw at all sorts of ethnic organisations — led Mr Moffat to make that call to the BNP, Mr Raikes said.

“He called and said that the charity had a number of urgent bills which needed to be paid, and could we help? Mr Hamilton quickly organised the £3,000 which FEBA needed and the charity was able to continue operating until other promised help arrived.”

Sadly, the additional promised help never came through, and several local authorities who continue to fund large numbers of organisations working for the rights and interests of everyone except British people, made it very clear that no help would be forthcoming.

“Then BNP Scotland stepped in,” Mr Raikes said. “Mr Hamilton and other members quickly showed their organisational prowess. So far, BNP Scotland members have raised in the region of £25,000 in goods and donations for FEBA. This is a much needed charity for all of our veterans so I can’t really understand why the present government does nothing,” he added.

The meeting last weekend was to formalise BNP Scotland’s association with FEBA and discuss plans for future developments which will be beneficial to both organisations.

Pressure has already been applied by the usual suspects over the teaming up of BNP Scotland and FEBA, to no avail, of course, Mr Raikes continued.

“Mr Moffat is a well-known and highly respected figure whose primary concern is for ex-servicemen and veterans and he will not bow to political correctness or threats from the far left.

Mr Moffat has been awarded the Queens medal for his charity, has had a reception thrown by the First Minister and will shortly be featured in an upcoming BBC2 documentary.

“He is thoroughly fed up with the old parties and the British Legion and is more than happy to be officially associated with the BNP,” Mr Raikes concluded.

* FEBA has organised various open days, charity events, appeals and a Highland games-style gathering at Strathclyde Park over the last two years. According to its official charter, FEBA offers “support to ex-service men and women to improve their quality of life and well-being, by increasing their knowledge and awareness of the assistance that is available.

“We also aim to improve the physical and mental health of these men and women and reduce the risk of social isolation. In addition, we also assist the families of veterans by helping them have more of an understanding of what their families may have experienced. FEBA feels offering such services to Scotland’s veterans improves their social skills and eases them back into their social communities.”
