Glasgow meeting report

March 4, 2010

imagesthistle2
Glasgow BNP met on Wednesday evening at the usual Glasgow City Centre venue. Thirty patriot members attended the meeting and the atmosphere was friendly with everyone feeling a real sense of unity and agreeing that we are fighting for one common purpose. The meeting was treated to a talk by a local member who has a wealth of knowledge on any subject and is a very entertaining speaker. he spoke about the real dangers we, the British people, face with the Islamification of Europe and the treacherous left wing politicians and media.

The latter part of the evening was dedicated to open discussion as this gives everyone a chance to air their views and feel as though they are contributing to the meeting. A new member has offered to write articles for the website and someone with resources in the entertainment industry has offered to help out at future events such as the RWB.

Another trip to Barking and Dagenham is being planned shortly. Some more members have volunteered to make the journey down South so Glasgow will be able to field a larger contingency. Other branches have also indicated their interest in travelling to London with Glasgow.

A tasty buffet was available and at the end of the evening a fantastic collection of £470 was made – the best collection at a Glasgow meeting in a long time. Well done to everyone who attended and we hope to see you all again next month. Can we just remind everyone that tickets for the forthcoming Road Show on 27th March are selling fast, so please order early to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased from the Glasgow and West of Scotland Organiser, Hammy. Telephone: 0771 7774730.

Flying the flag in Aberdeen

Cults Hotel

Aberdeen BNP took to the Streets of Cults on Saturday and had a very productive day indeed. “Apart from a left-wing-supporting business trying to disrupt our campaigning, our four-strong team still managed to distribute over 400 leaflets and hand-out almost 100 newspapers to local residents” the North east organiser reported.

A large BNP banner was temporarily erected on council land to mark our presence in the village and was acknowledged by passing motorists who sounded their horns in support. The local hotel manager took great offence to this and decided to call the police, presumably to have us arrested or forcibly ‘moved-on’.

“The police arrived and could instantly see that we were not up to anything illegal or offensive and were quite happy to leave us to it”, said candidate, Susan Ross. “The police informed the hotel manager that there was nothing they could do because we were not breaking the law, the manager saying he only had a problem with the banner because it looks like my hotel supports the BNP”.

As a gesture of goodwill, the team made the decision to take the banner down and continue campaigning without it thus allowing our hard-working police officers to concentrate on the protection of our communities.

The police officers were visibly annoyed and embarrassed at having to waste their time in dealing with such a ridiculous call out.

“Not only has the manager of the hotel wasted tax-payers cash with his personal attack on democratic freedom of speech, he also wasted the valuable resources of the ‘financially stretched’ Grampian Police who could have used their time questioning us to catch drug dealers and thieves”, activist Steve Thomsom added.

“BNP Scotland vehemently opposes the blatant exploitation of our police force for the purpose of ‘political posturing’ and will not be dictated to when it comes to our choice of campaign locations. Our campaiging is always peaceful, our activists polite and we always place the interests of the community first” organiser Barry Scott concluded.

Summing up our fantastic result

November 18, 2009

BNP flag Milton 11Oct 09We’re glad to report that the British National Party has pulled off our best-ever result in a parliamentary election in Scotland, demonstrating just how far we have come in a very short time and the extent to which the party is now perceived as a credible, mainstream contender by increasing numbers of voters.

There was no surprise about the top two positions at the Glasgow North East by-election on Thursday 12 November 2009, but the entire story of the contest was the battle for third place.

For our party to even be fighting over third place at this early stage in our Scottish growth is astonishing. Three years ago we wouldn’t even have placed in the top six. Now we’re fighting for third. It just demonstrates the potential out there.

For our readers in England, remember that this result is even more remarkable given that we have four, not three, Westminster parties up here.

When we consider what we were up against, we really have done remarkably well.

Let’s reconsider our seven stated aims at this by-election, which we published in our article on the BNP website on 9th November, here.

Our first aim, to beat all the extreme left-wing parties was achieved, in spades. In fact, we beat the combined vote of Solidarity, SSP and Socialist Labour, added together. So, aim achieved.

The second aim, to get in the top six. Achieved.

The third aim, to beat one of the following: the Greens, Conservatives or the Lib Dems, who on past outings have come above us. Well, we tanked the Greens, and that is so necessary if we are to stand a chance of getting our candidate elected on the Holyrood PR ballot in 2011 or more probably 2015. Achieved.

The fourth aim, to come in the top five. Achieved.

The fifth aim, to beat any two of the Greens, Conservatives or Liberal Democrats. Well, we also tanked the Lib Dems. Achieved.

We said that if we achieved any one of our seven aims then we would have done extremely well in the first by-election that the BNP has ever contested in Scotland.

Fact is, we achieved five of our seven aims, failing only to save our deposit (by 17 votes) and come third, which would have needed an additional 63 votes.

So we came fourth, but consider what we are up against.

The Conservative Party is a multi-million pound machine. It has virtually unlimited access to finance from the City. We had access to exactly £890.34 which we raised at our fundraiser on 27th October.

The Conservative Party has a big team of well-paid, full-time employees in Scotland who are dedicated full-time to winning elections for their party. We had a small band of hard-pressed men and women, squeezing in activism when they could get time off their work.

And then there is the full-spectrum dominance of the Conservative Party, and the other Westminster parties, on our national mass media. We can’t escape seeing them or listening to them in the papers, the TV and the radio, every day, 24/7/365. Yet they have the cheek to complain because Question Time hosted Nick Griffin … once.

Yet still we pushed the Tories to the wire. Indeed, the entire story of last night’s election on TV was whether we were going to take third place from them or not.

Furthermore, all the four Westminster parties had privileged access to the national mass media. They were invited onto radio hustings. We weren’t. They were in the Scottish press every day. We weren’t. They received invites to all the hustings meetings in the constituency. We received not one.

Yet still we tanked the Lib Dems, taking over twice its vote.

We’ve also learned many valuable lessons in this campaign. These lessons are being recorded right now. We know several areas where we need to improve, and we’ll be rolling out this best practice for all our teams during the General Election next year.

Talking of which, we are launching the biggest-ever campaign in Scotland for next year. We have identified 23 seats and we aim to contest them all. That makes a difference from the 2005 General Election when we contested two.

As our candidate, Charlie Baillie, said at the count, this election has established us as a credible alternative in Scotland.

Incidentally, while all the candidates lined up on stage for the announcement of the result, they all, like ill-mannered peasants, left the stage when Mr Baillie walked forward to speak. By so doing they were demonstrating their sneering contempt for the 1,013 good people of Glasgow North East who voted for the BNP, as well as their contempt for the democratic process.

Let us leave the final word to Mr Baillie who told this website: “I’d like to thank all the activists from Glasgow, and the others who travelled far distances to be with us, and without whose help this result would not have been possible. I’d especially like to thank our Chairman Nick Griffin for visiting Glasgow twice. His tremendous popularity really helped us deliver this result. Thank you, Nick. To the 1,013 people of Glasgow North East, thank you.”

Now please take the next step. Please register your interest on this website. We want to meet you and speak with you. We need your help.

If you can help BNP Scotland at the General Election — we are looking for candidates, activists and people who can help pay for the £500 deposit in each constituency — please contact Scottish Regional Organiser Gary Raikes at Scotland @ bnp.org.uk with your full name and address, or send a letter to PO Box 11815, Turriff, AB53 8WB.

And remember you can help us do all these things, and more, without even being a member!

The Demographic Time-Bomb!

June 27, 2009

Very Nice Eh?
Official figures have been released that show in 2007, one in five babies were born to non- British mothers!

In 2007, 529,700 babies were born to British mothers. 160,300 babies were born to non-British mothers. And if you live in London the numbers are even more concerning.

In the London borough of Brent 72% of all births were to non-British women and in another London borough, Newham, it’s 74.8%.

The Office for National Statistics says that the reason for the increase is that more immigrants are coming to live in the UK. Duh!

Britain’s fertility rate is at a record low at 1.6 children each.

Non-British mothers have an average of 2.2 children.

Pakistan mothers have an average of 4.7 children.

Bangladeshi women have an average of 3.9 children.

By 2028, officials believe that the population of Britain will reach 70 million and of the extra 10 million, 7 million will be immigrants.

1,650 immigrants are coming here EVERY DAY to live in Britain.

The Statistics Office said, “The rise in the overall total fertility rate is mainly due to increasing fertility among UK-born women, since fertility among foreign born women has remained relatively stable since 2004.

“However, foreign-born women, who generally have higher fertility, are making up an increasing share of the population, which is also acting to push the overall total fertility rate upwards.

“This has resulted in an increase in the proportion of births to foreign-born women, from 15.3 per cent in 2001 to 21.9 per cent in 2007.”

So, the fertility rate is up because UK-born women are more fertile? But foreign born women, who are coming to Britain and having more children than UK-born women push up the overall fertility rate?

Who is classed as UK-born? Second or third generation immigrants or the native people?

Let’s look at the fertility rate of the immigrants that come to Britain.

Uganda – in 2003 their fertility rate was 6.72. In 2008 their fertility rate rose to 6.81.

Afghan – in 2003 their fertility rate was 5.64. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 6.58.

Ethiopia – in 2003 their fertility rate was 5.55. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 6.17.

Republic of Congo – in 2003 their fertility rate was 3.65. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 5.92.

Mozambique – in 2003 their fertility rate was 4.87. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 5.24.

Kenya – in 2003 their fertility rate was 3.47. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 4.07.

Zimbabwe – in 2003 their fertility rate was 3.66. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 3.72.

Ghana – in 2003 their fertility rate was 3.32. in 2008 their fertility rate rose to 3.78.

In the last 30 years, the Muslim population of Britain rose from 82,000 to 2.4 million – a 30 fold increase!

There are over 1,000 Mosques, many of them former Churches!

Unlike the left-wing and other political parties, the British National Party is not afraid to tell the people of Britain that their country is in real danger from immigration!
